He was born September 14, 1939 in Logansport to the late John Jacob Brown and Lena Utterback Brown. He graduated from Turkey Run High School and served four years in the United States Marine Corps.
Bill married June Ann Brooks on August 27, 1977, and she survives. Bill was a self-employed carpet layer for over 40 years. He loved to read, watch sports, collect sports cards and anything that had to do with the Indiana Hoosiers, especially IU basketball and Bobby Knight.
Surviving, along with his wife, June, are their two children, Tana (Richie) Davis and Jacob Brown, both of Lafayette. Four grandchildren; Trae, Raven, Bristal and Braya, and a great-grandson, Taevion. Three sisters; Eulah Jaynes of Crawfordsville, Betty (Gordon) Flickinger of Lafayette, and Patty Barnhart of Monticello. Bill also had a step-son, Neal Harmon (wife Lori and their children Brandi and Conner) who he just had the honor of meeting last year, as well as many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents John and Lena, were four sisters; Barbara, Nancy, May and Josie and 5 brothers; Eugene, James, Tom, Chet and Ronnie. He was also preceded in death by two nephews, Mike Brown of Whittier, California and Gordie Flickinger of Lafayette and a Grandson, Kaleb Emery of Lafayette.
