William H. Hoffman

Poestenkill William H. Hoffman, of Snyders Corners Road, died Saturday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a long illness.

Born in Poestenkill, he was son of the late Delmar and Mary Teal Hoffman and husband for 60 years of Rose P. Snyder Hoffman. He had resided in Poestenkill all his life and was educated in Poestenkill schools. He camped many years on Lake Champlain.

Mr. Hoffman was employed at Sterling Winthrop in Rensselaer as a machinist for 40 years, retiring 19 years ago.

He was a member of the Poestenkill Evangelical Lutheran Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He was an avid fisherman.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters Cheryl Durgan of Maine and Darlene Belleard of Latham; 4 grandchildren Jamie Bielawa, Bobby Belleard, and Bryan and Brett Lewis; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Hazel and four brothers Vernon, Alton, Arnold and Walter.
