Mr. William H. Carpenter, age 83, of Milford, beloved husband of 58 years to Marie Caruso Carpenter, died Saturday February 7, 2009 at Milford Hospital.
Son of the late Harry and Margaret Callahan Hines he was born in New Haven on September 23, was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was a foreman for Avco Lycoming of Stratford before retiring in 1988. Bill was a member of Point Beach Engine Company #6, Milford, and was an avid bowler.
In addition to his wife Marie, he leaves two sons Anthony “Chip” Carpenter and his wife Diane of Sandy Hook and William H. Carpenter III and his wife Sheryl of Milford. Three grandchildren, Michael Suppe and Casey and Ali Carpenter. Five brothers and sisters Harry Hines of North Haven, Peggy Dillon of Northford, Mary Jane Roy of West Haven, George “Butch” Hines of West Haven and Rosemary Petrosemolo of North Haven. Also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers James, Gerald, Dick, Robert and Larry Hines.
