tWilliam G. Ruthe, 82, of Freeport, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at his home.
Born November 8, 1927 in Freeport he was the son of William F. and Jessie (Beard) Ruthe. He married Donna Zimmerman October 20th 1961.William’s career was in the linen service business. He worked for Clean Towel, Aramark and was district manger for F.W. Means. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He was a former member of the Freeport Elks Lodge and the Germania Club. William enjoyed time spent with his family traveling to Orange Beach, Alabama and Lake Mills, Wisconsin. An avid Green Bay Packer fan he also enjoyed his coffee friends meeting at McDonalds.
Surviving is his wife, Donna of Freeport; his 3 children, Diana (Kirk) Berg of California, Rebecca Shettle of Minnesota, and Deborah (Kevin) Smith of Freeport; 8 grandchildren, Brenda Osborne, Vincent Osborne, Ronald and Scott Berg, Marc Rivera, Amy Eversol, Bradley Smith, and Michelle Pfeiffer; several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Kenneth Kling and Nelson “Bud” Ruthe; 2 sisters, Jane Kuntz and Betty Brothers.
