William G. Freund formerly of Burlington went home to be with the Lord on Thursday at the age of 85 at Virtua Rehabilitation in Lumberton. Born in Trenton, Bill was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. He graduated from Lafayette College in Mechanical Engineering and received his Master’s Degree from Pitt. He specialized in the design of waste handling machinery for the paper, aluminum, and glass industries.

He enjoyed acting in and designing sets for the Burlington County Footlighters, the Bordentown Community Players, and the Palmyra Bridge Players. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus #589 in Burlington, and a lector for St. Paul’s RC church.

His favorite pastimes were making old, wooden signs with colonial and nautical flavor and entertaining his grandchildren who will remember his wonderful sense of humor, bright smile and kind words. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years Anna (nee:Sokol) and their children: William D., Lawrence, Joseph M. Freund, Ina Cochran; grandchildren Eric, Justin, Barbara, Raven, Lydia Freund, Wyatt, Ross Cochran.
