Those left to honor Spider’s memory are his 4 daughters, Eunice Habner of California, Loretta (Jeff) Miller of What Cheer, Iowa, Becky (Art) Sanders of Sigourney, Iowa, and Tina (Randy) Coady of Newton, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; his 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Beverly Shepperd of Prairie City, Iowa; 3 brothers, Clyde (Arlene) Spiddel of Prairie City, Iowa, Floyd (Carlene) Spidell of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Jerry (Ruth) Spidell of Colfax, Iowa; his step-brother, Bob Murry of Nebraska; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Teddy Shaver, Terry Shaver, Ilene Lee, all of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister in infancy; his granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and his life-long friend, Ralph Shaver.

Spider worked in the factory at Mid-West for 26 years, retiring in 2004. Prior to that he worked in the factory at the Parsons Company for 28 years.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge #923 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and children.
