William F. Ducca, Sr. age 82, of Highland Park, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his daughter’s home in Sewell, N.J. Born in New Brunswick, he has lived in Highland Park for most of his life. Bill had served in the 47th Infantry of the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He was a Spanish and History teacher from 1954-1959 at St. Peter’s High School in New Brunswick. He had worked as the Highland Park Borough Clerk from 1959-1989 and was the Borough historian.

Bill was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church, Highland Park, a third degree knight in the Knights of Columbus Council No. 6306 as well as past president of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was also a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #324 in New Brunswick.

He was a stamper collector and also enjoyed Model HO Trains. He was an avid Mets and Giants fan. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Marianne Hudson Ducca who died in 1980, a brother, Frederick Ducca and a sister, Genevieve Milsom.

Bill is survived by his children; William F. (Anna Marie) Ducca Jr. of Highland Park, Margaret M. (Mario) Polizzi of Sewell, N.J., James V. (Dawn) Ducca, of Saline, MI, Mary Anne Ducca Butler of Deptford, N.J. and Paul A. (Sherri) Ducca of Naples, Florida, a sister, Evelyn Byrnes of Berlin, N.J. , a brother-in-law, James Hudson of North Brunswick, grandchildren; Kristina (Eric) Denison, Nicole and Maria Ducca, Elaine and Thomas Polizzi, Donna (Rick) Spagna, Rich (Christine) Polizzi, Matthew, McKayla, McKenna, Cassandra, and Christopher Ducca, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park.
