William Diffley, 89, of Toms River, NJ died on Friday February 3, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. William was born in Roscommon Co. in Ireland and lived in Queens, NY, Dobbs Ferry, NY then retired to Brick, NJ and moved to Toms River 3 years ago. He worked as a bus driver for MTA in New York City, NY. William was a parishioner of St. Catharine of Siena RC Church in Seaside Park, NJ. William is predeceased by his parents William and Catherine Diffley; his wife of 25 years Catherine Diffley and his daughter Maureen Diffley.
Surviving are his children Michael Diffley, Anthony Diffley, Patrick Diffley, William Diffley, Lawrence Diffley, Nuala Polidoro and Catherine Hunt; his siblings Patrick Diffley, Larry Diffley and Mary Diffley and his 12 grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Monday February 6, 2017 from 3-7pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 809 Central Ave. Seaside Park, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Tuesday February 7, 2017 at 10am at St. Catherine of Siena in Seaside Park, NJ. Burial will follow to Mt. Hope Cemetery in Westchester, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis Tennessee 38105.
