William Dale Moffitt, 88, of Ada Street in New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2005, in his home. Mr. Moffitt was born on October 31, 1916 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, to the late Elmer and Clara (Hooton) Moffitt. He retired from the former Torrington Corporation in South Bend in 1981, after 42 years of service.
On June 26, 1937, William Dale, married the former Wahneta May who survives. Surviving with his wife of 67 years is his daughter, Nancy A. (Patrick) Hurley of Granger, Indiana; his son, Charles (Sharon) Moffitt of New Carlisle, Indiana; grandchildren, James Moffitt, Cassandra Smith, Christopher Moffitt, Melissa Ryder, Patrick Hurley, Jr; great-grandchildren, Shannon, Abby, Bill, Joe, Dot, Brittany, Clayton, Alexa, Madeline, Tyler, Jake; a great great-grandson, Antony; his sister, Mary Alice Horn of Hollywood, Florida; and his brother, Robert Moffitt of New Carlisle, Indiana. Sisters, Helen Wykoff, Thelma Reiley, Lois Rodgers, Carol Bates; and brothers, Richard, Eston, George, Gene, and Randall Moffitt all preceded him in death.
