Eddie attended Albemarle Sr. High School from 1966 to 1970. Following graduation, he attended Wingate College for 2 years and then Western Carolina. After college his adventuresome life began. At the age of 23 he was the youngest motel manager in Myrtle Beach, S.C. From there he went to Miami Beach where he was employed by the Fountain Bleu. This was followed by a short movie career in California where he had small parts in several movies. In the mid 80’s he helped to open the first Bali Health and Fitness Club in Charlotte , NC, as a salesperson and later a manager. Following his employment here, he joined Fairfield Time Share in Fort Mill, S.C. as a salesperson and manager. He eventually relocated to other Fairfield facilities until he finally moved back to Charlotte and then Albemarle in 2006. Eddie loved life and lived it to the fullest. His passion was being on the water in his boat. Because of his good hearted and outstanding personality, he made many friends during his life. All who knew him loved him and he will be greatly missed. “Fast Eddie”, you will be in our hearts forever. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Ella Margaret Marshall Claywell. Surviving are his sister Jan Pressley and husband Max of Charlotte, niece, Kristy Davis Pack of Myrtle Beach and her children, Breeze, Corbin and Kade.
