William Clarke Ings, III was born June 4, 1942 in Hackensack, New Jersey to William Ings, Jr. and Edna Ings.  He was a graduate of Ridgewood High School in Paramus, New Jersey, was awarded an A.B. Degree from Haverford College, and also received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Harvard College.  He served in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged having achieved the rank of Captain.  He worked as a management consultant/financial analyst for Arthur Young and Company, and American Metals Climax.  He was a retired partner in Retail Developers, inc. which developed the Boaz Outlet Center.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diana Ings, their two children William Clarke Ings, IV, and his wife Sarah Ings, and Deborah Ings and her husband Charles Grube, as well as three grandchildren, Colin Claytor, Madeleine Ings, and Samantha Ings. He is also survived by two brothers, Steven Ings (wife Jessie Ings), and David Ings (wife Rhonda Ings), his sister-in-law Sherry Calvert (husband Jeffrey Calvert), his brother-in-law Gary Cooper (wife Gwendolyn Cooper), and three nephews, two nieces, three great nieces, and one great nephew. He is survived by two aunts, Gwendolyn Walker and Johnnie Hall, and one uncle, Herbert Ray.
