William C. Blankenship, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 2, 2014. Bill was born on April 24, 1928, in Indianapolis to the George and Lesta (Nelson) Blankenship. He was a beloved husband of 65 years to his wife Thelma (Todd) Blankenship. Other survivors include sons Gary (Teri) and Steve (Jenny) Blankenship; daughters Carolyn (Barry) Kay, Nancy Ewing and Cindy (Gary) Ernst; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Bill is preceded in passing by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.
Bill was known for his smile and love of farming, which he farmed for over 75 years. He was also Chairman of the Marion County Farm Bureau Coop for 35 years. He loved being with family and friends, being outdoors, playing golf, fishing and wintering in Sanibel Island, Florida.
