William C. "Bill" Kriger

William C. “Bill” Kriger, 94, of Williamsport, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport. Surviving is his loving wife of 71 years, Marjorie A. (Shreckengast) Kriger.

Born June 29, 1925 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Torrence L. and Mary J. (Clouser) Kriger.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.  After an honorable discharge, he was employed as a fence installer at Sears and Montgomery Ward. He went on to open Kriger Fence Co. in 1955 where he worked until his retirement in 1990. Bill was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the West Branch Boat Club. He enjoyed many hours of boating in the Susquehanna River and in Canada, as well as hunting and fishing.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Scott C. Kriger (Sandra) and Mark W. Kriger (Shirley), four grandsons, Andy (Amber), Josh (Laura), Kevin and Brian (Gina),  six great-granddaughters, Madison, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Brielle, Emma and Ellie, one great-grandson, Noah, all of Williamsport, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by five sisters, Wanda V. Deuel, Anna Irion, Ethel Loudenslager, Caroline Deuel, and an infant sister.
