He was born to Roy T. and Clara Williams on July 14, 1924 in Gardnerville / Minden, NV. He served as a 1st lieutenant in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII, after which he attended the University of Nevada and graduated with a degree in mining. On June 18, 1950, Bill married Ida Bess “Sandy” Sanderson in Elko, NV and together they moved to Montana, where Bill had accepted work with the Anaconda Copper Company. Over the years, he held a number of management positions, before retiring in Denver, CO in 1989. After retiring from the Anaconda Company, he worked in the Human Reserves department at Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado and volunteered at a local museum.

He returned to Montana in 2008. Bill loved the outdoors, and he loved books, traits he generously shared with his children and grandchildren. His genuine concern for people was demonstrated by his involvement in his church, civic groups and volunteer organizations. Most of all he had a deep love for his family. After he retired, he and Sandy were inseparable. Together, they provided a solid foundation and wonderful example for their children and their growing families.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sandy; brother, James T. Williams (Margaret) of Las Vegas, NV; sons, Bill Williams (Anita) of Gold Canyon, AZ, Michael Williams (Karyn) of Vadnais Heights, MN; daughter, Lisa Keville (Peter) of Great Falls, MT; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
