William “Bill” Swetnam, 67, of Moberly, died January 20, 2021.  He was born February 14, 1953, in Moberly to James Isaac and Norma Lou (Kendrick) Swetnam.

He attended schools in Clinton, MO and graduated from Clinton High School in 1971.  He then graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg with a Bachelors Degree of Electricity and Electronics in 1975.  Following college graduation Bill worked in the coal mining industry for 19 years.  In January 1994, Bill joined Ken-Mar Timber Company as the General Manager where he worked until he passed.

He was a member of the Missouri Forest Products Association and a former member of the United Mine Workers Association.

Bill married Debi McClendon on August 22, 1975 in Clinton, MO; and she survives of the home.  Also surviving are his children, Devon Andersen and husband Adam, Tyler Swetnam and wife Shawna; four grandchildren, Tyson Swetnam, Cole Andersen, Karli Andersen and Tucker Swetnam; sister Sharon Cumpton; three brothers, James “Bud” Swetnam and wife Kate, Raymond Swetnam and Richard Swetnam and wife Janet; a brother-in-law Kevin Hutchings and wife Sharon; two sister-in-laws, Sandra Jackson and Karen Lusebrink; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Bill had a strong faith in God.  Bill’s family was very important to him.  He greatly enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s 4H activities, sporting events and theatrical/musical performances.  Bill loved hunting and spending time with all his hunting buddies.  He was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed taking trips with his wife.  Being from Missouri, he was a faithful St. Louis Cardinal’s and Kansas City Chiefs fan.  Hard work was very important to Bill and he enjoyed the great people that he worked with both in an out of the office.
