William Bill Hayes Felton, Jr. passed away April 17th, 2024 in Sentara Obici Hospital with his wife by his side. Born on August 10, 1942, in Suffolk, he was the son of the late William H. Felton, Sr. and Ruth Cornwell Felton. He was also predeceased by his brother, Robert Cornwell Felton. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, June S. Felton and son, William Robert Felton.Bill was a member of the 1960 graduating class of Chuckatuck High School and the 1964 graduating class of Virginia Tech. He majored in Mechanical Engineering while at Virginia Tech and immediately went to work at Newport News Shipbuilding. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a Senior Engineer after 43 years. Bill enjoyed fast pitch softball and golf in his earlier years. He was also a member of Oakland United Church of Christ.
