William Ray Furr, age 65, of Locust, N.C., died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, N.C. Furr was employed by Mecklenburg County as a Park and Recreation Supervisor and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. The family meeting place is at his home.. . He was the son of the late James Furr and Elsie (William) Furr. He is also survived by his wife Mary Jane (Carriker) Furr; One Sister, Joyce Carpenter & husband Greg of Pittsboro, N.C. Special friends Benjamin and Libby Stegall, Deanna and Jeff Parker.
