William “Bill” A. Fox of Bowling Green passed away peacefully in his family’s presence April 1, 2023.  He was born in Bowling Green to the late Arthur B. and Kathryn A. (Decker) Fox and married Denise F. (Panning) Fox on November 22, 1980.

Bill is survived by his wife, children, and extended family: Kimberley K. Fox (Danny McIntosh) of Savannah, GA; Chris (Dorey) Fox of Sylvania, OH; Erin (Joshua) Jaworski (née Fox), of Perrysburg, OH; Kelley Fox of Bowling Green, OH; and Kristey Fox of Ridgeland, SC; brother Dean Fox; former son-in-law, Rob Aguilera; eight grandchildren, two bonus grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two bonus great-grandchildren.

Bill graduated from Haskins High School and began working with his father as a carpet installer for Ratcliff’s in Toledo, OH. In 1966, Bill joined the Bowling Green Police Division after completing the Ohio Peace Officer’s Training Academy.  Bill rose to the rank of lieutenant and served the BG community for 30 years. He also worked as a Deputy Bailiff for the Bowling Green Municipal Court, serving under Judges James Bachman and Mark Reddin, retiring in April 2022.  Bill loved being a public servant and enjoyed sharing his lifetime of experiences with family and friends.

Even as he relished in his career, Bill’s greatest love was his family and the time he spent with them. His priority was caring and providing for his loved ones, and he showed his pride in his family through the stories and pictures he so often shared.

Bill also had a passion for cars, especially muscle cars. He was a perpetual tinkerer and enjoyed the challenge of rebuilding old vehicles. A few months prior to his retirement from the Court, he rebuilt the engine of a 1985 Corvette and was especially proud of this achievement.
