William F. “Bill” Hutchison, 64, of Elkhart, passed away following an extended illness at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, April 6.
He was born in Elkhart on April 2, 1950, to the late Robert A. and Dorothy A. (Sweetnam) Hutchison.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Neva Hutchison and his sister, Mary Lou Price.
Surviving him are his son, William R. “Will” Hutchison of Denver; his stepson, Christopher “Chris” (Sarah) Knott (four granddaughters) of Colorado Springs; his aunts, Lorraine Jorgenson and Millie Gardener of California; nieces Jodie Freshour and Julie Booth and his significant other, Kathy Satterfield Dardis of Elkhart.
Bill was a self-employed sales executive in the RV industry for nearly 40 years. In 2010, after nearly 20 years living in Phoenix, Bill returned to Elkhart with the help of his friends Carl Slabaugh and Floyd Searer. There he reconnected with Kathy and lived, as they say, happily ever after. Bill had always had a unique ability to stay in touch and retain friends, even from childhood. He was also an avid antique car and automotive enthusiast, and together he and Kathy loved to cook and entertain.
