William “Bill” Charles Shore, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 9, 1945, in San Gabriel, California, to Clarence “Curly” Shore and Treasa Adamson Shore Sterger. He was blessed with four siblings, Sandra Lee, Judith Anne, Rocky Clarence, and Jill.

Bill graduated Idaho Falls High School and then joined the U.S. Navy in 1963. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as an Electrician.

During those years Bill met his soon to be wife, Barbara Carol Smith Olsen. They were married at Crowley Lake, California, on June 1, 1974. A few months after they were married they moved to Idaho Falls to start a family and Bill began additional electrician training. Bill’s first child, Rebecca Mae Shore was born March 1, 1977, and his second daughter, Crystal Ann Shore on July 9, 1979. Bill received his Journeyman Electrician’s License in 1975, specializing in wiring the farmer’s “Circle” Machines. Bill worked for his dad “Curly” at Shore Electric & Pump, B & W Equipment and with his brother Rocky at R & R Electric.

Bill absolutely loved and enjoyed the sun and golfing, especially at Jefferson Hill’s Golf Course. He also enjoyed steelhead fishing in Salmon, Idaho, as well as bowling, camping, and hunting. He taught his girls golfing and fishing while they were growing up. Bill loved giving close friends and family a hard time but he always had a loving heart.

Bill loved his girls so much, and the joke was always about who the favorite child was!

Bill survived by his daughters, Becci (Jed) Benner and Crystal (Jason) Meppen; and three grandchildren, Kyree Meppen (15), Ridge Meppen (12), and Parker Meppen (6). He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Sandra and Judith.

We would like to give our appreciation to BRIO Idaho Hospice and the doctors and nurses at the EIRMC. We also would like to give a special appreciation and thank you; to Life Care Center and Shelly, RN (Bill’s nurse), for taking care of him these past 15 years.
