William “Bill” B. Mason, 83, of the Pine Acres Manor section of Manchester, NJ passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Bill was born in Bound Brook, NJ and lived in Middlesex, NJ before moving to Manchester, NJ 23 years ago. Bill proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. His love for his country and for the people with whom he served was evidenced by his patriotism. He was a member of the VFW Post 10061 in Lakehurst, NJ. Bill was a Truck Driver for most of his life working for various companies.

A captivating story teller with a twinkle in his eye, Bill had many colorful stories to tell of the interesting people he met and experiences he had in life. He peppered his stories with his unique humor, strong opinions and sometimes colorful language. He liked to make people laugh with his jokes and stories, oftentimes laughing at himself, as well. Bill also was astutely interested in current political events and liked to engage in discussions of the news of the day. He was a skilled handyman and could fix anything. A man who was as tough as they come, Bill was known to approach life head-on and on his own terms.

Those who were dear to him also know that he was an extremely generous and caring man. He was a gentle giant his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was known to them as “Pop-Pop”. His last few years were devoted to taking care of his ailing wife, Carol, who was the love of his life. Bill is predeceased by his wife, Carol S. Mason; his parents, Harry and Mildred Mason; and 2 brothers, Harry “Sonny” Mason and Tex Mason. Surviving him are his children, Timothy Mason and his wife, Helen (Rybak) of Manville, NJ; Deborah Mason and her partner, Karin Nigol, of West Hartford, CT, Donald Mason and his wife Vicki (Iannetti) of TN, and Natasha Mason of Toms River, NJ; his 6 Grandchildren, Nicole, Sam, Holly, Max, Desirae, and Desmond; and 2 Great Grandchildren, Thomas and Meredith; his siblings, Elsie DeSimone of Edison, NJ, Mildred Hansen of Montgomery, NJ, Lawrence Mason of Tuckerton, NJ, and Doris Mason and Alice Delmire of Martinsville, NJ.
