William “Scotty” Beresford MacLachlan, 89, of Anderson, passed away on October 24, 2021, at the Golden Living Center, Muncie, IN. He was born on August 15, 1932, in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of James and Ellen Mary (Beresford) MacLachlan.
Bill proudly served in the British Royal Navy in the United Kingdom from 1953 until 1955. He is a retired Electrician for the Guide Lamp Division of General Motors. Bill was a member of U.A.W. 663.
He is survived by his loving wife whom he married on October 9, 1958, Daphne Geraldine (Cleworth) MacLachlan; sons, Ian (Janet) MacLachlan, Andrew MacLachlan, Bruce (Yvonne) MacLachlan, and William MacLachlan; grandchildren, Anthony, Elizabeth, Holly (Clem), Mitchell, Alexis, Rowan, and Elowyn MacLachlan; several great-grandchildren; and several extended family members.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Catherine (Rena) Caddell, and a brother, James MacLachlan.
