On Tuesday Morning our community lost a loved and respected citizen. William Arthur Weatherholtz, known as “Bill” by all who knew him, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday Morning October 11th. Bill is survived by Jeannie his wife of 56 years (a significant achievement by any measure) and his three living children Sharon, Marvin and Sandra with 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Bill and Jeannie have long been known for founding and running ” the Brighter Days Horse Refuge”, a charitable non-profit organization for abandoned and abused horses, as well as promoting proper horse and animal care in the metro community”a cause Bill and Jeannie have been passionately involved with for over 30 years. Mr. Bill had a contagious smile and was always quick with a joke, in addition, he had the wonderful ability to make friends easily. He will forever be known as a compassionate protector of animals, a loving caring husband, and a hero to his children—a hero, not so much for the father he was when younger but for the great man he became in spite of his challenges.
