W. A. “Bill” Williams, born 30 March, 1925, Rogers, TX, to Millard Allen and Beatrice Newman Williams, both deceased, passed away 16 Jan., 2010. He is survived by a step ” son , Gary A. Dempsey. Bill attended Texas public school system in Rogers and Corpus Christi, TX, earning his BS degree in Civil Engineering in 1953 from the University of Houston. Serving as an Electronics Technician in the USNR for three years in the Pacific Ocean areas during WWII, he was honorably discharged in Dec. 1945. He returned to his home in San Antonio and worked for the Nelson-Burgess interests as a sales engineer for 30 years until his retirement and then moved to Kendall County. He was author of three books, Founder of the Texas Chapter of the national Chief Petty Officers Assoc, Docent at the Nimitz Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, TX, and Charter member of the Texas Chapter of LST/Amphibious Assoc.
