William A. Ashley, 78 of Shinnston passed on Monday, June 10, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on June 9, 1935 in Clarksburg, the son of the late Paul Ashley and Virginia Monroe Ashley. He is survived by his beloved wife Christine Ashley in which they shared their love together for 24 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Wendy Bullock and Companion Bobby of Shinnston; Trish and husband Mario Bombardiere of Clarksburg; Paula and husband Danny of Clarksburg; four sons Randy Starcher of Shinnston, Billy and wife Missy Ashley of Clarksburg; David and wife Linda Gillespie of FL; Bob and wife Kathie Gillespie FL; four granddaughters; Krystle and husband Mario Vicente of FL; Kyley of Clarksburg; Amanda; and Alexis of Clarksburg, three grandsons; Robbie Bullock of FL; Christopher Bombardiere and companion Whitney of Fairmont and Zach Bombardiere of Clarksburg; three great grandchildren; Holly and Chloe Vicente of FL and Annabella Bombardiere of Clarksburg ; first cousins, William “Billy G” Golden of Clarksburg; Barbra Golden Clarksburg; one brother in law Herb Barnes of Clarksburg. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Patty Barnes; Margaret Ann. He was a glass worker, and a United States Veteran, a member of the VFW of Clarksburg; a captain of the color guard at the VFW, he was a member of the American Legion in Clarksburg and Shinnston, a member of the Orioles and trustee in Shinnston. William loved being around all of his many friends. At Williams request he was cremated.
