Social worker, civic leader, and a tireless volunteer who devoted himself to improving the lives of many, especially young people, Willard M. McRae died February 18th at his home in Middletown, CT. He was 82. A native of Middletown, Willard was born on October 11, 1933, the youngest of five children of Edmond and Bertha (Gillespie) McRae. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1951 and then earned his bachelor’s from Central Connecticut State College. He completed a two year tour of duty in the Navy as a chaplain’s assistant.
