Willard J. “Rab” Shenberger, age 81 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on February 20, 1937; the son of the late Walter and Thelma (Melester) Shenberger. Willard  “Rab” married Loeta (Rita) Holden on June 29, 1963, at the Freeport First Church of the Nazarene.

He had served in the United States Army and in the Army Reserves. He then worked for Modern Plating until retirement. Willard “Rab” was a Pilgrim member of the Freeport Moose Lodge and served as Governor for three terms. He was an avid NASCAR and racing fan and enjoyed fishing. He was a family man and loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

Willard “Rab” is survived by his wife of 55 years, Loeta (Rita) Shenberger of Freeport; sons, Willard Jr. (Candy) of Freeport, John (Susan) of El Cajon, CA, James (Amy) of Freeport, and Jeffrey (Ame) of Monroe, WI; grandkids, Robbie, Ricky, Amanda (B.J.), Jimmy (Kendra), Alyssa B., Aubrey, Kayla B., and Joey; 4 great-grandkids; sister, Evelyn (Louis) Taggart of Forreston; sister-in-law, Sharon Shenberger; several nieces and nephews; his Moose Brothers; and his dog, Jack.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Walter “Red” (Barb) Shenberger; brother, Sheldon “PeeWee” Shenberger; and sister, Ruby (Delon) Brown.
