On September 7, 1947, Wilfred married Doris Sagehorn at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, NE. He was a farmer, raised cattle and bred cattle through AI. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cribbage with his grandchildren. Wilfred was a member of the Beaver Crossing American Legion Post #178 and Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner, NE.
