Wilford W. ”Bill” Wertz, 83, Pendleton, died January 4, 2004 at Rawlins House, Pendleton after a brief illness. He was born June 11, 1920 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Pendleton, Indiana. He lived in this area all of his life. He devoted over 40 years of service in bolstering the infrastructure of the City of Anderson; in overseeing the construction, renovations, and additions of various corporations and institutions, such as Delco Remy, Guide Lamp, Central Christian Church, Anderson College University, various city elementary and high schools, to mention a few; as Superintendant Project Manager for Associated Builders, Inc. He served his country in the US Air Force during WWII as a Gunnery Instructor for B29s. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Carpenter’s Union #1016. He was an avid metalworker, woodworker and gardener. He is survived by his Wife of three years: Donetta Cooke Robertson Wertz. Four Children: Michael J. & wife Janice Wertz of San Francisco, California. Richard L. Wertz of San Francisco, California. Linda A. & husband Bill Foernzler of Indianapolis. Sandi J. & husband Bob Webb of Anderson. Three Stepchildren: Pamela & husband Russ Chelf of Noblesville. Cynthia & husband Dan Asher of Toren, California. Timothy & wife Betina Cooke of Naples, Florida. Sister: Blanch Muncie of Plano, Texas. Father-in-law: Albert & wife Mattie Solomon of Bambridge. Sisters-in-law: Jane & husband Bill Salin of Carmel. Marsha Carrington of Bambridge. Brother-in-law: Greg Solomon of Pittsboro. Eight Grandchildren, Eight Great Grandchildren and Five Step Grandchildren. Several Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded by his 1st wife: Jeannette ”Jennie” A. Wertz. 2nd Wife: Sherry Solomon Wertz. Brother: Lawrence G.D. Wertz. Sisters: Anna Mae Kickonnen. Naomi A. Pittsford. Sister: Mabel Runyan.
