Wilburn Ray “Wook” Beckett, 76, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday morning May 27, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH.
He was born July 6, 1936, in Fleming County to the late Charles Ralph & Lydia Beckett.
Wilburn was an auto body mechanic for 40 years at Doyle’s Auto Sales and Jerry’s Gems. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving on the USS Willis A Lee. He was a proud member of the Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 and the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5.
Survivors include his children Regena Crawford, Shelia Lee, Cindy Bustos, Angie Beckett all of Flemingsburg, Pam King of Mt. Olivet & Tim Beckett of Lewisburg, KY; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Annie Rice of Beechburg and Jenny Hickerson of Flemingsburg.
Wilburn was preceded in death by his parents, wife Naomi Gulley Beckett, son David Beckett, brother Buddy Bigelow and 2 grandchildren Shaun Crawford and Destiny Beckett.
