Wilbur Strong Porter, 89, life-long resident of the Gilead section of Hebron, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2015 with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Maralyn (Ruschmann) Porter.
Born October 19, 1925 in Willimantic, he was a son of the late Winthrop S. and Ethel (Hills) Porter. He attended the one room Gilead Hill Schoolhouse and graduated from Windham High School. Mr. Porter was a proud veteran, having served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Mansfield.
