Wilbur C. Benson, Jr., 64, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2005, in his home.
Wilbur was born on March 19, 1941, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Wilbur C., Sr. and Naomi (Casper) Benson. On August 29, 1998, he married Gail Hartley, who survives.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his four sons, Stephen (Christine), Christian (Catherine) and Brant (Barb) Benson, all of South Bend and Kevin (Jennifer) Beckman of Watervliet, Michigan; a daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Dawson of South Bend; his mother, Katherine Benson of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Aaron, Janet, Thomas, Isabella and Natalia Benson, and Brooke and Hunter Dawson; three sisters, Helen (Wilbur) Miller of Osceola, Patty (Wayne) Chodzinski of Mishawaka, Indiana and Virginia (Tom) Langley of South Bend; and a brother, Daniel Benson of Mishawaka.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Wirag; a sister, Roberta Benson; and a brother, Robert Benson.
Mr. Benson was a self employed contractor for 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #284, the Moose Lodge #58 and the Maennechor Club.
