Wilber Vance Carmichael, 93 of Wolf Summit passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at Heartland of Clarksburg with family by his side. He was born December 24, 1916, in Mannington, son of the late Archie R and Eva King Carmichael. Wilber worked with his parents and family at Carmichael Freight Lines and Storage in Clarksburg. He later went to work for Pony Express which the name later changed to Halls Motor Transit where he retired as a truck driver. He loved wood working and was an avid bowler. Surviving is his wife, Alma Grace Murphy Carmichael whom he married, March 30, 1961; six children, Betty Lou Kesling Nixon and husband Billy, Clarksburg, Wilber Vance “Sonny” Carmichael Jr. and wife Marcie, Coral Gables, FL; Richard Vance “Ricky” Carmichael and wife Donna, Frederick, MD, Randy Allen Carmichael and wife Georgine, Laurel, MD; Sharon A Carmichael, Alexandria, VA, Rodney Vance Carmichael and partner Clem Floyd, Wolf Summit; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Wilber was preceded in death by his stepson, Donnie Keith Hitt; three brothers, Elmer, Delmer and Ralph Carmichael; two grandchildren, David and Donald Kesling.
