Wendell R. Holmes, the son of Floyd and Nellie Farmer Holmes, was born April 13, 1934 in Reasnor, Iowa. He attended Monroe High School.
On July 11, 1952, Wendelll was united in marriage to Jean E Darrah in Newton, Iowa. He was devoted husband, dad and grandpa, who drove truck for Mid-seven Transportation, retiring in 1996. Wendell belonged to the moose Lodge club 923 and Teamsters Local 147.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David in 1974 and his sister, Clara Cowden.
