Wayne Phillips, age 67, beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend to many, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at his home in Los Lunas, NM. An Albuquerque native, Wayne grew up in the North Valley and was a 1967 graduate of Valley High School. Wayne was an avid baseball player and fan, and was scouted by and tried out for the LA Dodgers. Opting instead for family life, Wayne married his first love and had three children. He and his brother went to work for their dad at Heights Plumbing and Heating, where he worked his way up to eventually becoming the well-respected President of the Company, which remains in the family today. The ultimate hunter and fisherman, Wayne loved the outdoors and wildlife, which he passed on to his kids and grandkids. Over the years, Wayne made lifelong friends and had a lasting impression on many. The World lost a good and kind man, and those who knew him and loved him will always have a special place in their hearts for him. Wayne leaves behind his brother, Clyde Phillips and his wife, Dolores of Sabinal, NM; daughter, Taunya Crilly of Port Washington, WI; sons, Michael Phillips and his wife, Jessicca, of Albuquerque, NM and Ben Phillips and his wife, Erin, of Los Lunas, NM; daughter, Jesica Krueger of Prescott, AZ; grandkids, Jacob, Andrew, Conor, Makenzie, Ryan, Maci, Tristan, and Chase; cherished cousins, many lifelong friends, and his dear friend, Carol Quintana. Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister.
