Wayne (Popeye) Roosevelt Harris, 77, of Hepzibah, departed this life to be with the Angels on August 18, 2010 at 10:16pm at his home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Lodgeville, WV on August 5, 1933, a son of the late Jasper Perry and Hattie Day Harris. He is survived by his second wife, Sharon Whaley Harris, whom he married September 1, 1968; son, Michael W. Harris and his wife Pam, Wallace; two daughters, Robin Harris, Canton, OH, and Martha Swiger, Enterprise; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brothers, Cecil Harris and his wife Karen, James Harris and his wife Dorothy, and Ronnie Harris and his wife Ruth, all of Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Gordon and Barbara Campbell. He was also preceded in death by one son, Johnny Dale Harris; two sisters, Dolly (Toots) Bowen, and Dorothy (Sis) Reed; and five brothers, Harry (Bud), Fred, Willard, Jasper and Howard Harris. Retired from Southern Ohio Coal Company, Wayne attended Bethel Temple and was Pentecostal by faith. He loved and lived live to the fullest. He loved classic cars, Harley Davisson Motor Cycles, deer hunting and Elvis Presley.
