Wayne Kevin Wood, 62, of Kalamazoo, passed away April 30, 2019 at his home. He was born November 30, 1956 in Plainwell, Michigan to Frank Alvin and the late Virginia Lee Wood.

Wayne was known to be creative and loved cross-stitching. He was also renowned for his fresh, home-baked pies. He and his dad shared a strong interest in ham radio. He was also a fan of country music. He and his longtime partner, Donnita, shared an interest in many sports, including volleyball, tennis, golf, cross country skiing, and bicycling; they also enjoyed thrifting and yard sales around the community. Wayne was deeply loved by his entire family and enjoyed spending lots of time with them, may it be at family gatherings or playing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed going up north and fishing with his dad and son-in-law. He loved learning about his past family through genealogy. Wayne also served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Lee (Titus) Wood; a sister, Londa Bassett; a brother, Kenneth Wood; and brother-in-law, Thomas Freeman.

Wayne is survived by the love of his life, Donnita (Hoke) Frisbie; father, Frank (Lois) Wood; step-children, Heather (Brad) Cole, Chris Frisbie, and Emily (Myke) Kowaleski; grandchildren, Amber, Miguel, Sammi, Ellie, Mason, and MaKayla; great-granddaugther, Valari; brother, Bruce (Angie) Wood; sister, Vicki Wood; several nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Donald (LaDonna) Hoke, Tina (Phil), Dinah, Tracy (Jim), and Marcia.
