Wayne J.” Shorty” Cordeiro of Plymouth, died on Monday January 3rd in his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Deborah J. (Houser) Cordeiro. Born in Plymouth on September 29, 1943, son of the late Manuel and Mary (Vieira) Cordeiro. He was educated in Plymouth and a graduate of Plymouth High School and went on the serve his country in the US Air Force from 1961 till 1965. Wayne was a lifelong Plymouth resident, owned and operated Pilgrim Pumping Services until his retirement. He later worked as a landscaper in the Plymouth area. He was a member of the American Legion Post #40 Plymouth, and the Cold Spring Club in Plymouth. He enjoyed his frequent visits to Kevin’s restaurant for socializing with friends.Shorty was always a fan of sports, especially ice hockey and the New England Patriots. He loved motorcycles and sports cars. He enjoyed gambling and playing cards and loved going out to eat. Wayne also enjoyed driving around town in his pickup truck for fun. He is survived by his daughter Megan Scott of Plymouth, his son Dennis Cordeiro of Florida, stepson Bill Pierce of Marshfield and step daughter Dawn Hood of Wareham. He was the father of the late Jared Cordeiro. He was the brother of Beverly Furtado of Florida and the late Jimmy Cordeiro of was the grandfather of Chandler, Cameryn, Andrew, Devin, Damien, Tayla, Joshua, Justin, Ryan and Joey. Great grandfather of Denver, Kaison, Sophie, Logan, Alana, Ava and Logan. He was also survived by his companion and dear friend Maureen Gray of Plymouth.
