Wayne E. Rowland passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved loves on Wednesday October 16, 2013 at the Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mt. Holly at the age of 78. Wayne was born in Stockport, OH where he attended Marietta College, married the love of his life, and actually built his first home himself from a Sears Home Kit. He was an army veteran, serving during the Korean War. His work, as district manager for WalkerParkersburg, brought him to Burlington Twp. , where he was a long time resident.

He was a very active and well respected member of the Presbyterian Church of Burlington, where he served as an ordained elder and deacon. He will be most remembered as a cherished father, grandfather, and loving husband, who exemplified love, faith, and honesty through his deeds and words. Wayne was predeceased by brothers Paul and Lee Rowland.

He is survived by his wife Shirley (nee Groah); his children and their spouses, Cathleen (Gordon) Metz, Mark (Sarah) Rowland and Daniel (Gina) Rowland; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Nicholas) Bertoni, Erin (Thomas) Sardina, Joshua Metz, Margaret Rowland, Kathleen Rowland, Jacob Rowland and Hannah Rowland. He is also survived by his sister Alice Sands as well as many nieces and nephews.
