It is with great sadness and love that the family of Wayne C. Conn, 88, announces his passing on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.  Wayne was born on September 17, 1932 in Crandon, Wisconsin.  Wayne met the love of his life, Anita M. Gibbs, in high school.  They were married on December 29, 1952, and recently celebrated their 68th anniversary.

Wayne is lovingly remembered by his wife, Anita, and his children, Steve (Vanetta) Conn, Waynette Sue (Larry) Howery, Cynthia (Edward) Murray, Cheryl TDHG Conn and by his sister, Ruby Nickols.  Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Claude Conn, his brother-in-law, Otto Nickols, and his daughter, Natalie C. Conn.

Wayne was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews that were his pride and joy. The legacy of Wayne’s kind spirit and enthusiasm for life will live on through them. He will always be cherished and fondly remembered by them.  Wayne’s indomitable spirit often encouraged his family and many friends to persist in the face of adversity and then look for the silver lining in the storm.  He was always there to listen and could be counted on for sound advice

Wayne spent his winters in Scottsdale, Arizona and the summer months in Hopkins, Michigan.  After retiring, Wayne started a business called Wayne’s Golf Cars located at Sandy Pines Resort in Michigan.  Every summer Wayne and Anita were buying, selling and refurbishing golf carts.  Wayne had a strong work ethic, a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face.  He loved country music, was an avid golfer, enjoyed boating and spending time with his beloved dogs throughout his lifetime.  Wayne was a great story-teller and he would often entertain family and friends around an evening campfire.  Wayne and Anita traveled the world and created many priceless memories from their adventures.
