Born on August 19, 1942 in Galveston, Texas, to the late Morris and Gladys Bennett, Wayne peacefully passed away on February 8, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Bennett; children, Kate Quintana and Justin Bennett; step-children, Tricia Fitzgerald and Douglas Shea; grandchildren Ryan Quintana and Sarah Fitzgerald; and siblings, Stan Bennett and Susan Boldrick.
Wayne was known for his taste in music, playing cards (especially poker and bridge) being an avid reader, his cooking and being excellent at crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed going to the movies, traveling, his bridge club and book club and taking his grandchildren to new and interesting places. He was a teacher for 29 years and worked with the Fremont Unified School District for 24 years; before becoming a teacher, he was a chemical engineer. Wayne will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
