Wayne A. Hicks, 59, of Ottawa, died Friday, December 1, at the Community Hospital of Ottawa. Mr. Hicks was born September 21, 1947, in Ottawa, to George E. and Evelyn (Burrows) Hicks. He married Sandra Reynolds on December 28, 1968, at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He was an auto mechanic for Bill Walsh Automotive Group for 30 years. After retiring from Bill Walsh, he opened H & H Auto Repair in Ottawa. He taught auto mechanics for an explorers scouting group. He was the President of the Ottawa Friends of the Illinois River Fishing Club.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Cherie (Bill) Reynolds of Ottawa; a son, John (Erica Coleman) Hicks of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Lindsay Reynolds, Ethan and Austin Hicks; one step-granddaughter, Brooke Coleman and one brother, George K. Kenny (Ethel) Hicks of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Tommy Hicks at birth.
