As he entered Paradise to meet the Lord, he once again beheld the beauty of his parents, Era and Collie Green; three brothers, Marion Green, James Green, and Floyd Green; two sisters, Evelyn Johnson and Marie Williams of Houston; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

On early Sunday morning, January 15, 2023, Green entered eternal rest, transitioning peacefully at his home in Hobbs. Green loved many things, but his true passion included reading and studying the word of God to show himself approved of the Bible. He loved his hats and enjoyed dressing in his designer suits. He said, he always wanted to be ready when the Lord came for him.

He was a hard worker and believed it took hard work to have nice things in life. He had retired from GCI to devote full-time labor at Christ Holy Temple COGIC, where he pastored.

Growing up in Hobbs, Green made many friends and enjoyed watching westerns and Christian television shows. He also cherished spoiling his wife, Julian, whom he married in 1979.

Over the past few months, Watson had been battling numerous health issues. However, he didn’t let ill health beset him, it only strengthened his faith and deepened his relationship with God. His wife, Julian said he would pray and declare his feelings at home, that “God was in the healing business.”

His last words to her were “God is so good, I’m going to bed now.” He went to bed, yielding up his earthly life, knowing God would provide him with a glorious heavenly mansion when it was ready.  Green was loved by many people and always took the time to encourage others through laughter and joy to serve the Lord as well. His versatility characterized the “Green” experience, as he was a minister, who loved the oil field, and knew the ground terrain.  He gave his all as a pastor, to Christ Holy Temple COGIC of Hobbs, firmly believing that religious and community leaders had to be at the forefront to provide strong and effective visionary leadership to all their members. He also enjoyed jail ministry, bringing those behind prison walls to accept Christ as their Savior.

He leaves to cherish his memory: A loving wife, Julian Green of the home; two sons, Carlton Green, and Derrick (Vivian) Green; two sisters, Ruby Timms of Oceanside, Calif., and Doris Tate of Houston, TX; three brothers-in-law, Larry Collins, Hosea Collins, and Samuel King, all of Texas; a host of in-laws, beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
