Wasylyna Yukash, age 96, passed away peacefully into eternal rest at her home on Saturday, March 24, 2018.  She was the widow of Michael Yukash. Mrs. Yukash was born in Ukraine, lived in a refugee camp during World War II, emigrating to the United States. She was employed for over 25 years by the former Cove Manor Convalescent Home as a nurse’s aid. Proud of her Ukrainian heritage, she enjoyed and treasured the times she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren  and of recent time, her great grandchildren.  She was especially known for her Babkas, Holubts (stuffed cabbage) and most especially, her delicious was known to her grandchildren as “Baba” and passed on her love of Ukrainian culture, heritage and language through her many experiences of famine, war and loss of family that she endured in her youth. Her faith in God carried her throughout her life. She had a gift of making the impossible bloom in her garden. Her love of watching her garden burst with radiant color was a joy to see.
