Warren Harding Thatcher, 89, of Rising Sun, IN, formerly of Aurora, passed away at 6:10 AM, Wednesday, March 10th, peacefully, at The Waters of Rising Sun. Warren was born in Ohio County, IN on September 22, 1920, a son of the late Owna (Campbell) and Floyd Thatcher. On March 27, 1949 he married Marie (Robinson) Thatcher, who died on 2/9/2007. He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC in WW II and received the American Theater Ribbon; EAME Theater Ribbon w/3 Bronze Stars; Good Conduct Ribbon; Meritorious Unit Award and World War II Victory Medal. He retired from Seagram’s Distillery in Lawrenceburg, IN. Warren also loved to farm. He attended grade school on Stewarts Ridge in Ohio County.
