Warren A. Mushlitz, Sr., 87, of Bethlehem, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospital “” Muhlenberg. He and his wife, Florence G. (Bartholomew) Mushlitz, celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in September. Born in Northampton, he was the son of the late Warren W. Mushlitz and Ellen (Schaffer) Mushlitz Johnson. He served his country in the US Army during World War II as a combat engineer. Warren worked for the Bethlehem Steel as a material expeditor in the blast furnace for 37 years. He founded the North Central Little League “” Elks Farm League. Warren was also a softball pitcher in various leagues and an umpire for mens and womens softball for many years. He was a member of College Hill Moravian Church in Bethlehem, where he served as an elder, sacristan and played on the Dart Baseball Team. Survivors: his loving wife, Florence; sister, Olivia (Johnson) DeStefanos; cousin, Russell Schaffer and his wife Kay of Langhorne; nieces, Dolly Dilliard and her husband Charles of Allentown and Jo-Anne Thomas and her husband Willard of Hellertown; special friends, Thomas and Monica Galles of Bethlehem. Warren was preceded in death by a son Warren A. Mushlitz, Jr. in 1979, a sister Mae A. Miller and brothers Joseph C. Mushlitz and Aubrey Johnson.
