Wanda Lynn Massey Tate, 47 of 253 Old Oak Trail, Ringgold, Va. went to be with the Lord Tuesday June 14, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital, Lynchburg, Va. Mrs. Tate was born May 27, 1964 in Danville, Va. to the late William Green Massey and the late Rachel Isabel Owens Lester. She was married to Billy Houston Tate of the residence. Mrs. Tate attended the Lone Star Church of God. Wanda had a lot of good traits, she was a wonderful mother, never met a stranger, loved to cook, loved children and loved to grow flowers. Mrs. Tate worked 17 years for Durham Hosiery Danville division as a supervisor then later worked in the bakery at Walmart. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by one brother; Wesley Daniel Massey. In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter; Charlene Renee White of Gretna, Va.; two brothers; Ronnie Green Massey of Danville and Billy Joe Massey of Providence, N.C. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday June 18, 2011 at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, Danville with the Rev Walter Burch and Rev Lawrence Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville. The family will receive friends 7-8:30 pm, Friday June 17, 2011 at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave, Danville, Va. 24541 and at other times at the home of Ida Tate, 340 Horseshoe Road, Danville.
