Wanda Lois Radke passed away at her home on Monday, June 7, 2021. She was born April 11, 1928, in a rural area of Trufant, MI during a heavy spring snow a daughter of Martin and Jenny (Jorgenson) Christensen. She was the third child of her family. Wanda attended a small country school for the first eight years and then a consolidated school for the next four years and graduated from a class of sixty students. She was awarded a scholarship to attend college.

Entertainment during her young life was simple. Everything was a “family affair”. Singing by the piano, walking through spring flowers and autumn leaves, and sliding in the snow with friends. As a teenager, Wanda frequently attended dances in the community hall. Wanda met Arthur Radke at a dance. After marriage, Wanda and Arthur resided in Grand Rapids, MI, Kalamazoo, MI and Lakeland, FL.

Wanda had many friends and enjoyed playing bridge, cribbage, and many other card games. She was always entertaining family and friends no matter what residence she happened to be in.

After Arthur retired, they lived in Florida for several years. Wanda moved back to Kalamazoo after Arthur died to be close to her family and friends. Wanda was a member of Lutheran Church of the Savior.

On October 15, 1949, Wanda married Arthur E. Radke who preceded her in death on June 15, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Penny Flesher; sons-in law, Bill Flesher and Earl Simon; sister, Dorine Jepson; and brother, Maynard Christensen. Wanda is survived by her children, Debra Simon, Sue Mark (Fred), and Kevin (Bernadette) Radke; grandchildren, Dawn Sleeman (Ron), Denise Majdan, Erika (Justin) Berger, and Ryan (Lindsey) Flesher; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Sleeman, Ashley (Matt) Gansen, Karson Flesher, and Alec Majdan; great-great-grandchildren, Isaiah Gansen, Leo Majdan, Layla Sleeman, McKenzie Berger, and Silas Berger; and many nieces and nephews.
