Wanda D. Hardman Rice of Bountiful, Utah returned to her family and Heavenly Father on Sept. 7, 2022. She was born January 17, 1931 in Heber City, Utah to Ella Louise Murri Duke.

She was raised by her mother and stepfather Ethan M. Duke. She attended schools in Orem, Utah graduating from Lincoln High School. In recent years through DNA testing she was able to find her birth father’s family and was welcomed into the Dayton’s of Heber.

She married Hyrum Ray Hardman on July 8, 1950 in Orem, Utah and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 25, 1962. After the passing of Ray in April 2007, she married James M. Rice on May 28, 2016 in Bountiful, Utah.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various organizations. She cherished serving with Ray as ordinance workers in the Ogden Utah Temple.

She worked in the Weber County School lunch program for 27 years where she retired in 1990. She is a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed camping, reunions, quilting, and hand work.

She is survived by her husband James M. Rice of Bountiful, 5 children and 5 step-children. R. Gregge (Verleen) Hardman, Larry G. (April) Hardman, Pauline (Kenneth) Peterson, Cindie (Michael) Ogle, and Marilyn (Scott) Roylance, Lynn (Richard) Parks, Cindy (John) Thompson, Kathy (Scott) Hardy, David Rice, and Lauri (Jamie) Montgomery. She has 18 grandchildren, 17 step grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 39 step great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 brothers-in-law and 5 sisters-in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and his parents, 6 brothers, 7 sisters, 1 great granddaughter and 1 step great grandchild.
