Walter “Whitey” Warren Jr., 90, passed away Wednesday Jan 30, 2013 in Franklin. He was a resident of Greenwood and formerly of Anderson. Whitey was born on June 2, 1922 in Thorntown to Walter A. Sr. and Amy R. Warren.
He was an U.S. Army Veteran, serving in WWII. He retired from Delco-Remy after 25 years of employment and worked for the Daily Journal as a newspaper carrier. Whitey enjoyed camping traveling, fishing, hunting and bowling. He loved spending time with his family and watching the Price is Right show and western movies.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ann Warren of Greenwood, five children, Michael (Gracie) Boston, Mindy (Paul) Elmes, Carl Olney, Ginger Hubbard, Christopher Warren, a brother, Bob (Jane) Warren, 13 grandchildren, Nina, Tina, Nichole, Andy, Nate(Kailani), Brian(Shannon), Gabe(Stacy), Melinda, Jeanette, Destinee, Alisha, Dustin and Amber and 20 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Gwen, Vanessa, Becca, Hunter, Jackson, Lauren, Nate Jr., Arik, Lily, Clay, Hayleigh, Hunter, Alyssa, Eli, Jesse, Billy, Brooklyn, Athena and Braunsen, 11 nieces, Geraldine, Connie, Brenda, Pamela, Susan, Kari, Kimberly, April, Sharon, Micki and Amy and two nephews, Scott and Jon. He was preceded death by his parents, a brother, Richard Warren, a sister, Juanita McKee, a grandson and three nephews.
